About the Project
The Makers is a UI design project inspired by the documentary Food Inc. with the goal of providing easier access to high-quality, sustainable food while supporting small business owners and local farmers rather than large corporate chains. The app aims to connect conscious consumers with eco-friendly options and make it simpler to make sustainable food choices.
The app includes three core features: find, shop, and research. The Find feature allows users to discover nearby sustainable shops and farmers' markets, offering the option to either visit in person or order groceries online. Shop enables fast, fresh food delivery, bringing locally sourced products to your door within minutes. Lastly, research helps users identify sustainable brands available in major chain supermarkets, allowing them to make mindful decisions even when shopping at larger retail stores.
In addition to these functionalities, the app rewards frequent shoppers to encourage consistent, sustainable purchasing habits. The overall design, including branding and the carefully selected color palette, is all my doing to create a clean, engaging, and user-friendly experience that reflects the ethos of supporting small businesses and environmental responsibility.
By combining a thoughtful, intuitive interface with a commitment to sustainability, The Makers reimagines the way we shop for food and empowers users to make a positive impact on their health, their communities, and the planet.
